Nankeen is a sweet girl and the ULTIMATE cuddle bug. She gets along okay with other dogs, but isn’t super interested in playing with them and bigger dogs intimidate her a little bit. She is clever too! For example, she can be a little bit picky with her food and she knows if she holds out, then she gets the good stuff and the special treatmentJ Over all, she is a very sweet, fairly laid back girl.
Center Information
Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are open daily Monday through Friday from noon to 6pm; Saturdays 10am to 6pm; and Sunday 11am to 6pm (last application accepted 15 minutes before closing). What: 13th annual Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon Dog Surfing Competition!
When: Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at 8 a.m.
Where: Del Mar Dog Beach
Description: The Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon welcomes spectators and competitors for a day of four-legged surfing, vendors, food, music, canine costume contest, opportunity drawings and more! The event is FREE to attend, but donations are encouraged and directly benefit the pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center. Dogs, with the help of their human parents, paw-ticipate in 10-minute heats based on weight class. Each dog is judged on their ability to ride the waves, stay on the board and fun-factor. There are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each weight class and the 1st place winners move on to the Best in Surf final.
