She was stray in Riverside County. She went into a lady’s yard and wouldn’t leave.
The woman contacted one of our rescue partners. They took Heavenly to their shelter, then transferred her to RCHS through FOCAS.
We’ve taken Heavenly to pet adoption events at PETCO and to a street fair. She did GREAT! She met lots of new human friends and got along great with the other dogs.
Our adoption counselors named her Heavenly because she’s an angel.
Her new family will need to give her time to settle in and know that she can trust you. She’s been in foster care since arriving at RCHS.
Sometimes she stops when she goes on walks if something distracts her or scares her. She just needs some encouragement. We kneel down beside her, talk sweetly, and give her a treat or two. When she’s feeling confident, you can start walking again.

Appointments are available every day but Tuesday. If this isn’t the right time for you to adopt or foster a pet, please become a “Virtual Foster.” Visit the RCHS website to sponsor a pet and help pay for their care until the shelter reopens and even beyond that.
