These cute little modern dinosaurs are Monica and Nala! Adopting a Red Eased Slider is a long-term commitment – many live for over 20 years! They can live indoors in a large tank, but Monica and Nala would really love to find a spot in a pond home to live out their glory days. They will need protection from predators and the cold, as well as a steady diet of turtle food and other snacks to make them happy. Ready to bring one (or both!) home? If so, make an appointment to meet her at sdhumane.org/adopt!
Nala and Monica are available for adoption at San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus at 5500 Gaines St. To learn more about making her part of your family, please visit sdhumane.org/adopt or call 619-299-7012.

World Turtle Day microchipping event
- We’re partnering with the San Diego Turtle & Tortoise Society for a special microchipping event on World Turtle Day, May 23, 2021.
- We will be microchipping turtles and tortoises in the care of T&T Society, while promoting adoptions and sharing important educational messages around turtles and tortoises as pets.
- We receive an average of 64 stray turtles and tortoises each year! A microchip with current information will improve the chance of returning the reptile to his or her home.

Where: San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus, 5500 Gaines St., San Diego, CA, 92110.
