Eldon served in the US Army Airforce from 1942 to 1946, and then was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Staff Sergeant. After being trained as an airplane mechanic and then off to gunnery school, Eldon eventually made his way to completing missions in which Eldon and his crew would drop medical supplies in 55 gallon drums to the POW camps below back in 1945, helping to feed our Servicemen in captivity. Eldon’s commitment to the service makes him a true Hometown Hero.
